In the past I’ve been a “new years resolution” type girl, but as 2015 comes to a close, and new beginnings are upon me, I’ve decided to take a different approach for 2016!
As I mentioned in a Facebook post yesterday, I fight against time, schedules and anything remotely restricting. A free spirit to the core, I do what I want when I want to do it. I do meet deadlines, and if I say I’m going to do something, I do, even if it means no sleep for days!
I’ve never been any different, and it’s worked for me thus far.
2016 is my year to change, for the better I hope. I’ve taken on more than I’m comfortable with, which means wasted time is not an option. My calendar is filling up fast, and I am excited to see if I’m disciplined enough to achieve all I have scheduled so far.
I won’t bore you with every detail, but the writing projects I have planned for 2016 look something like this…
1). Edits and, fingers crossed, the release of Pathways, and Rustic Charm.
2). Complete and release the remaining 4 books in the Hells Gate series.
3). Plan, complete and release the first 2 books in the next co-written series, with T.J. Adams.
4). Complete Falling For Autumn, and decided if I’m going to seek a traditional publisher or self publish.
5). Complete Devil’s Poison, then decisions, decisions, decisions regarding publishing options. I am really enjoying the control of self publishing…yes, I know, I’m a control freak!
6). Plan and complete a newbie novel I’m super excited about, working title, Behind Closed Doors.
7). Research, which involves a trip to the UK, a paranormal idea that just won’t leave me alone! Okay, so any excuse to travel is a good one. Ha ha ha. 😉
8). My alter ego will release 3 novels this year, and outline 3-4 for 2017.
Hmmm…do I push the boundaries and sneak in another 2 projects? 10 seems like a more complete list…11 is my numerology number, so that could be fun!
9). Outline projects for 2017…in case I find myself at a loss for ideas…Winters Charm, the second in my small town romance Charmed series.
10). Collateral Damage, the research for this novel requires digging deep and is not one I’ll allow myself to rush.
11). This project is a super duper big one! 22 books in the series. The stories are there, waiting to be told…all I need is the time to write them. I’ve not settled on a working title for this project, but stay tuned because I will chat more about it throughout the year.
With a double degree in Law and Justice & Criminology, I think I’ve reached my writing limit for the time being.
I hope 2016 is your best year yet, filled with love, laughter and conquering dreams! Happy New Year.
