Motherhood!

Catching up with family is always a treat, but when there is a new baby on the scene it is all the more special. I am one whose maternal clock will forever be ticking. With four children of my own most would think I’d be fed up by now, but, honestly, nothing makes me happier than new born babies.

Whilst I don’t consider myself the most patient person in the world normally, I am when it comes to babies and children. The midnight feeds and months of sleepless nights meant more hours I could spend with them. Teaching them and nurturing their brilliant imaginations is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had.

The sounds, the smell and the endless cuddles are worth every sleepless night, and more. And, yes, they grow up far too quickly. As though, in the blink of an eye, they go from terrible twos (mine were threes) to teens, too independent and busy to fuss over as I once did.

I have an awesome relationship with my children, for which I’m grateful. Each of them are unique and beautiful in their own way and I couldn’t be prouder of them.

Today, spending time with my glorious baby nephew made the day absolutely perfect, with lots of cuddles for us all.

I hope your day was spent doing what you love to do and with those you love most. To all the Dad’s out there, Happy Father’s Day to you.
